      It is colored and transparent. Usually comes in pink, green, blue, yellow and some red.

      There are many books showing the various patterns of depression glass,which you can find at your library Some patterns have been reproduced recently so I would recommend checking the piece in a book to make sure it is genuine.
      I used to sell depression glass in my shop while I was in the antique business.
