How is the Depression Glass market now?

cobalt blue wine glassesWhen it comes to collecting blue cobalt glass, beauty sincerely is in the eyes of the viewer. It is impossible to know what a particular individual is going to fall in love with. Equally challenging is producing any piece of art that is able to appeal to everybody. No matter how eminent the master, there are particular people who will not love or grasp his ability. On the other hand, there are pieces which become collectible as well as valuable, at least to you, purely because you get pleasure from owning them looking at them.

Or does it vary by location (i.e. very hot in midwest, but cold turkey in northeast)? I live in upstate New York and I've been trying to sell Depression Glass I inherited. I advertised in the newspaper and on Craig's List and not one nibble. I had a lawn sale about a month ago and put it out. Only one person even looked at it, but she didn't buy any. Now I'm not giving it away. I'm asking 25 - 50% Gene Florence book price depending on pattern (higher for etched patterns, less for pressed patterns). What percentage off book price should I ask in my location?

I inherited some "Mayfair Open Rose" parfait glasses and when I researched them the were selling $200 apiece. I didn’t sell them and I think that they have gone down in value substantially. Good Luck. I am in the Deep south.
